Sometimes our emotions are so strong and so real that it seems like God isn’t real. Emotional chaos creates a crisis of faith.
Our discomfort with the emotions we are experiencing may be more overwhelming and more real than Gods love.
Processing and bringing our strong emotions to God is a bold act of faith.
Bringing our hardships and complaints to God isn’t a sign of lack of faith. It is a display of strength in faith.
Emotions may overwhelm us, but they are not all of who we are, they are just a part of who we are.
Faith is not an emotional experience that we can work up in ourselves or that comes at a high powered worship experience.
Faith is not from ourselves.
It is a gift. It is grace.
—
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And it is not of your own doing; it is the gift of God, not the result of works, so that no one my boast.
